ADAM SCHAAF, MD

Biography

Adam Schaaf, M.D., is an Orthopedic Surgeon committed to using the most advanced techniques and latest technologies to help patients stay active. With fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Dr. Schaaf offers specialized expertise in shoulder reconstruction, fracture care, and the diagnosis and treatment of knee injuries, including ACL tears and meniscal damage. He regularly performs minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures to repair ligaments and soft tissue in the knee and shoulder, helping patients return to activity with less pain and faster recovery times.

Dr. Schaaf attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he remains a proud Buckeye fan. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. Dr. Schaaf has been recognized as an Honor Roll Physician by Healthgrades.com and has received multiple accolades from Vitals.com, including On-Time Doctor, Compassionate Physician, and Patients’ Choice awards. He has also been a finalist for Best Orthopedic Surgeon in the Charleston area in the Post and Courier’s Charleston Choice Awards. Understanding the importance of movement at every stage of life, Dr. Schaaf enjoys running, hiking, and keeping up with his four children.
